Do I need a park pass for Waterton?

Yes. Daily park passes are required and can be purchased at park gates. As of 2024:

  • Youth (17 and under): FREE
  • Family/Group: $21.00

Daily passes expire at 4 PM the following day. Consider the Parks Canada Discovery Pass for $75.25 (adult annual), which provides unlimited admission to all Canadian national parks for one year.

What should I know about wildlife safety?

Waterton is home to both grizzly and black bears, as well as elk, wolves, cougars, bighorn sheep, and deer. Wildlife safety tips:

During summer, gasoline is available in Waterton townsite (no diesel). Year-round fuel stations are in Pincher Creek and Mountain View. The park has 5 EV charging stations (4 in marina parking lot, 1 in public lot across Mount View Road).
